Securing our Foundations

Think of Australia as a giant home for us all. It is a solid, well built home. 

For generations changing governments was like putting on a new coat of paint, or perhaps, at the most, renovating the kitchen of the family home. 

Some people preferred the new colour, but basically our lives went on unchanged. 

This has given us incredible social cohesion, prosperity, and freedom. Millions have moved into our home because it is such a great place to live!

Successive governments haven’t really been able to muck things up too badly.

This is still, thank God, largely true of us here in Australia.

However, the upsurge in antisemitism in our country over the past 2 years is a sign that there are cracks starting to appear in the foundations of our home.

Our foundations are being attacked by well funded, co-ordinated foreign and local actors.

Going forward we can’t just debate changing the colours of our home. We need to pay close attention to the very foundations of our liberal democracy. It is these that are under attack in our country, and around the western world. 

As a community we need to hold all our governments, and our institutions, accountable for the maintenance of our foundational values and beliefs. 

We need leaders who are structural engineers not just interior decorators!

We can make antisemitism unthinkable by mobilising a large enough citizen movement to hold our leaders accountable to maintain the foundational values of our great country.

We have some very exciting plans to grow and scale up our movement in 2026. For now, will you consider doing one simple thing?
